JUN 17, 2011 – ACE lands

Wrapping up a three-week developmental lab workshop of the musical ACE, with book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, and music by Richard Oberacker, directed by Sheryl Kaller.  An incredibly engaging, creative, and fun journey exploring this work along with some of my favorite artists and people, including Aaron Lazar, Becca Ayers, Mary Beth Peil, Mary-Mitchell Campbell and so many other greats!

APR 15, 2011 – New 15-min show at York Theatre

As part of the York Theatre’s 4@15 series, I present my new 15-minute show HABEMUS PAPAM, written in one week specifically for a cast of eight students at UC Irvine to perform!

When the Pope dies, the Cardinals gather inside the Sistine Chapel to elect a new Pope. No one’s ever seen what happens – till now. The backbiting … the sacrilege … the song-and-dance.   Habemus papam!
With Anthony Fontana, Jacob Haren, Justin Keats, Sarah Beth Markus, Chelsey Moore, Lauren Muraida, Elizabeth Nelson, Alexandra Poka.

My half of the concert is called “ALL OVERETT” ….

Meet the Double-Threat Trio: three unfortunate performers who can’t master their third skill to save their lives.

Meet a starry-eyed young girl who wants to be a clinically insane Scottish murderess when she grows up.

Meet the grandson from Dirty Dancing (you know, the one with “two hotels”) and find out what he REALLY wants to say to the Jennifer Grey character.

Meet other people too. Oh, you don’t know them? YOU SHOULD.

They’ll be played by the likes of Elena Shaddow (La Cage Aux Folles), Amy Justman (Company), Amanda Leigh Cobb (The Importance of Being Earnest), Michael Lluberes (Dirty Dancing), Aspen Vincent (American Idiot), Jaclyn Huberman (I Love You Because), Kristine Reese (Wicked), Craig Laurie (Jersey Boys), F. Michael Haynie (We The People) and Adam (The Light in the Piazza) himself.

Direction by Dev Janki (Zanna Don’t), musical direction by Andy Einhorn (Sondheim on Sondheim).

Get Overett. ALL OVERETT.
