Second Stage musical reading w/Kristen Chenoweth

Had a blast going back to my acting roots, working with the Tony-winning star of WICKED and YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, not to mention dozens of other triumphs, on a new musical written by my besties Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair (co-creators of the marvelous MURDER FOR TWO, a show I performed for years during its development and off-Broadway run!) and Jonathan Tolins (BUYER AND CELLAR, THE LAST SUNDAY IN JUNE).

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO concludes its limited run

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO world premiere plays its final performance at the CLO Cabaret in Pittsburgh, PA. So much love and gratitude to the incredible artists who brought this show to life! Can’t wait for its next run!

APR 10-13, 2019 – PCLO Writers Residency and Spark New Musicals Weekend

I’m back in Pittsburgh for a few days to work on some of my own new projects, as well as to see the terrific line up of new small-cast musicals that Pittsburgh CLO is developing, in the same festival that THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO was staged in last year. Meanwhile, THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO is in full production down the street. What a difference a year makes!

NOV 25 – DEC 1, 2018 – THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO [re]workshop at Pittsburgh CLO

We get a whole week to play around with the show in preparation for our world premiere production coming up in early 2019! J. Alex Noble is back as Jamison, Drew Leigh Williams as Nina, and Jerreme Rodriguez as Kenny; Beth Leavel is busy being a Broadway star in THE PROM, so we have the wonderful Bobbi Kotula coming in as Millicent — and nailing a year’s worth of material in two days! Ahh, the genius of great actors.

MAR 19 – APR 7, 2018 – Tony winner Beth Leavel joins THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO staged workshop at Pittsburgh CLO’s Spark Festival!

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO gets three full weeks to work on, stage, rewrite, rework, and restage (rinse and repeat ad lib) at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera! The Spark Festival is an incubator of new small-cast musicals, and with a cast of 4 we’re fitting right in. Plus our show is all about creating a show, so it feels like a very apt experience. Our incredible cast is led by Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel (THE DROWSY CHAPERONE), and Pittsburghers J. Alex Noble as Jamison, Drew Leigh Williams as Nina, and Jerreme Rodriguez as Kenny; direction by Scott Weinstein, music direction by Matt Castle, choreography by Mara Newbury Greer, and stage management by Heather Ankley. It’s an incredibly productive week — I couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to have worked on the show here!
