JUL 1-7, 2008 – IN TRANSIT at the O’Neill Music Theater Conference

Adam plays the role of Trent, along with other characters, in a week-long developmental workshop at the O’Neill Theater Center of this new a cappella ensemble musical about life in, on and around the subways in New York City. The cast also includes Ryan Thomas Dunn (Camelot with New York Philharmonic) as Chris, Hannah Laird (Disney’s Finding Nemo: The Musical) as Ali, beat-boxer Adam Matta (Bobby McFerrin at Carnegie Hall) as Boxman, Ann Sanders (Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast) as Regina, Graham Stevens (Carmen with New York City Opera) as Nate and Denise Summerford (Taboo, The Rocky Horror Show) as Jane. W. Brent Sawyer (Naked Boys Singing) is the musical director and the director is Joe Calarco (Sarah Plain and Tall, Artistic Associate at Signature Theater in VA). JUN 12, 2008 – BMI Workshop Showcase

Adam performs the song “Women Leave” with Mick Bleyer at the BMI Workshop Showcase at the Snapple Theater Center.  The song, by Sara Wordsworth (lyrics) and LInda Dowdell (music), is from their musical CHINADOLL OVERDRIVE, adapted from the play by Michael P. Hidalgo.  Michael Bush directs and Craig Baldwin accompanies on piano.

“Hot as Cole: Celebrating Yale in Musical Theatre” at Joe’s Pub

Adam performs the comedy song “King For A While,” from the spec musical KERMIT: PRINCE OF DENMARK, penned by Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q writers Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. This one-night-only concert event brings together the many generations of Yalies currently shaping the Music Theatre industry, in celebration of Broadway’s past and future from Cole Porter forward.

The cast of performers includes current students as well as guest alums, such as Richard Maltby & David Shire, Malcolm Gets, and many others, singing pieces written by the illustrious Yalies who have contributed to the American Musical Theatre canon.

BERNICE BOBS HER HAIR reading

Adam joins an incredible cast for a reading of BERNICE BOBS HER HAIR, a new musical by Adam Gwon (music) and Julia Jordan (book and lyrics), adapted from the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Directed by Joe Calarco, the reading also features Tony Award-winner John Lloyd Young (JERSEY BOYS), Kate Wetherhead (LEGALLY BLONDE, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE), Jared Gertner, and others.

FEB 26, 2008 – Malcolm in THE FULL MONTY!

FULL MONTY (Maltz Jupiter) playbill coverAdam plays Malcolm, the suicidally-hopeless-but-lovable nerd who still lives with his Mom, in the Maltz Jupiter Theatre‘s production of THE FULL MONTY, the hit Broadway musical based on the film.  Also featuring classic comedienne Mimi Hines, the show is directed by Alan Souza and runs until March 16.

Spotlight Cabaret at Laurie Beechman Theatre

Adam performs in the first of a series of cabarets featuring new musical theater writing teams. This evening showcases the songwriting team of Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham (I LOVE YOU BECAUSE). Adam performs his own song, “I’ll Be The One” (available on the Writing page of this site!), as well as the Salzman/Cunningham songs “Another Saturday Night in New York,” “Suddenly” and “Next Thing You Know.” The cast also includes David Austin, Tiana Checchia, Jaclyn Huberman, and Jay A.
